Facebook business pages in the new Timeline format have been running a couple of months now.
You may or may not be surprised to learn however that Facebook has very strict rules on what you can have in a ‘Cover Photo’ on your Business page. Local Exposure was of course fully aware of these rules at the start so there is nothing to worry about for any of our clients where we manage the facebook pages.
But if you are thinking of changing your cover photo on your business page to one that has ‘like us’ or your web address or any contact details in it then think again as Facebook has some pretty strict rules on the cover image in particular, you may not show:
a. Price or purchase information, such as "40% off" or "Download it at our website"
b. Contact information, such as web address, email, mailing address or other information intended for your Page's About section
c. References to user interface elements, such as Like or Share, or any other Facebook site features
d. Calls to action, such as "Get it now" or "Tell your friends"
